Who are you running for? — Join in the fight against breast cancer by running a full or half marathon through Marathon for the Cure™
Rally for the Cure — Golf, tennis, dinner events and so much more...
A brand to trust — We are honored that Susan G. Komen for the Cure® ranked number one in a recent Harris Interactive poll as the most valued non-profit brand and the charity people are most likely to donate money to. Additionally, Komen for the Cure ranked second on the 2010 list of the nation’s most trusted charities. Thank you to all who help us daily in the fight to end breast cancer!
We offer a variety of events, from bowling to cooking to golfing and driving, in an effort to raise money for and awareness of our battle against breast cancer. There are opportunities to join the fight where you live, work and play.
Whether you are a golfer, a bowler, a chef or a runner, you can contribute to the fight against breast cancer 365 days a year. By participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® or another Komen event, you become part of a grassroots network that has changed the way the world talks about and treats breast cancer. You can make a difference as you celebrate survivorship, honor those who have lost their battle, and most importantly, raise funds and awareness for the fight against this life-threatening disease. There are many different ways to support Komen's mission.
A third party event is a fundraiser hosted by members of the community and local companies that wish to donate money to Komen Charlotte. These events can be as small as a dinner party for a few guests where you ask for donations to a large scale sporting event. These events can use the Komen name and logo to publicize the event and the organization will also include your event listing on our website.
The Komen Charlotte Race for the Cure raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease. It is a unique walk/run that brings thousands of participants and volunteers together with one common goal, to help eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease. On Race day, signs are provided “in memory of” or “in honor of” loved ones for participants to pin on their backs. It is a personal way for individuals to share their stories with others around them. The walk/run begins at 8am and usually all of the morning activities are finished by 11am. We realize in this hectic world that Saturday mornings are very precious to most of us. However, we promise that if you take the time to participate, it is one Saturday morning you will never forget.
