Grant Thornton

At Grant Thornton, making a difference is at the heart of what we do. As part of an engaged and dynamic global organization, we have a mission to make a difference to our colleagues, our clients, our profession and our communities.

The Charlotte office of Grant Thornton has supported the Charlotte affiliate since 2003 through participation in Race for the Cure and other Komen events and volunteering.  Grant Thornton has sponsored various Charlotte Affiliate events over the years, including: Race for the Cure, Laugh for the Cure and Rockin’ with Ribbons.  This year we are the sponsor for the Team Village at the Race for the Cure.  We hope you will join us there on Race Day!

Over the past seven years, we have contributed over $50,000 to the Charlotte affiliate. Since 2003, we have received the largest team in our Division award four times.  Nationally, we have contributed over $275,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure in the same time period.

One way that we have been successful is to make sure that we have FUN!  Some of our FUNdraisers at Grant Thornton have included:
• The always popular jeans day, where we allow partners and employees to wear jeans in exchange for a donation for Komen.
• Flocking Fundraisers – where a donation to Komen goes toward decorating a chosen co-worker’s office or cubicle with LOTS and LOTS of pink.  Decorations include inflatable pink flamingos (which is where Flocking gets it’s name – a “flock” of pink flamingos invades).
• Bake Sales
• Race for the Cure Cup – a competition between departments to see who will have the highest participation.  The winning department receives the Race for the Cure Cup trophy.
• Partner Pie in the Face

We are proud to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure Charlotte.  Together, we will end breast cancer FOREVER!
